Cannon Blast Bill is a game from Capcom Mobile with a very familiar character you may recognize from some Saturday Night Live sketches from the late 70’s. Cannon Blast Bill features none other than everyone’s favorite clay created figurine, Mr. Bill. In this game, Mr. Bill is a given a new job by the Sluggo Employment Agency as a human canonball for the Sluggo Big-Time Circus. If you know about Mr. Bill’s “misadventures,” then you know that being a human canonball can’t end well for him.

Cannon Blast Bill has two modes of play. There is a story mode with 12 levels that you need to complete and there is an endless mode where the goal is to stay aloft for as long as possible. What you do in Cannon Blast Bill is shoot Mr. Bill from a canon. He must stay aloft until he reaches the end of the level. You do this by tapping on the screen as he is falling down in order to make him flap his arms and send him back up into the air. Doing so takes away from the power meter. If you lose all the power before you reach the end, Mr. Bill will fall to the ground and end the game. You can refill your power meter by grabbing popcorn and soda in midair.

The game is easy to play, but don’t think it’s a game that you can speed through. The levels are actually quite challenging as you progress with each new level adding a new level of danger for Mr. Bill. I had fun playing this and the authentic Mr. Bill sound effects added to its charm. The endless survival game is where you’ll spend most of your time after completing all the levels. Each time you play, the level is randomly generated so you’re never going to play the same thing twice which is a good thing because it will really work out your hand eye coordination.

Cannon Blast Bill is a free game that is a subset of a much larger Mr. Bill game. It’s really just a small taste of what is available in the full retail game, but if the full game is as fun as this, it should be well worth the price and download.
