Google helps celebrate what would have been Will Eisner’s 94th birthday today. One of the most influential comic book artists of his time, Will Eisner is known for creating The Spirit as well as writing and illustrating the ever popular Comics and Sequential Art. I remember reading that in high school and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to break into the comic book industry.

For most of his career, Eisner was years, even decades, ahead of the curve. I saw him debating artists and editors half his age, and there was rarely any question who the youngest man in the room was. It helped that he never stood on ceremony. Everyone was his peer, regardless of age or status. None of us called him “Mr. Eisner.” He was just “Will.” – Scott McCloud for Google Blog
