There has been a huge influx of panda themed games hitting the App Store lately for some reason so when I saw this title, I figured I check out the YouTube trailer to see what it was about. I’m glad I did because It looks like a fun little game. Developed by Big Pixel Studios, Land-a Panda is a story about love. Help the young male panda reach the love of his life by using a variety of cannons to over come obstacles in order to reach his goal. The main draw for me here was the art style that seemed like it was heavily influenced by Mario vs Donkey Kong which has a similar look and feel. Either way, Land-a Panda looks quite interesting.

LONDON, UK – March 7th, 2011 – Leading independent games developer Big Pixel Studios today announced that their latest iOS title, Land-a Panda, will be released on Thursday 10th March.

The worldʼs panda population is in decline, and Land-a Pandaʼs mission is to resolve this crisis! Players control a young lovestruck male panda called Yang Guang, whose goal is to meet his dream partner, a female panda called Tian Tian, in this highly innovative puzzle game. Players must use a variety of unique cannons, pickups, and obstacles to blast Yang Guang within reach of the beautiful Tian Tian, although itʼs important to collect some golden coins along the way or she may not be impressed!

This clever new title combines a unique gameplay mechanism with a simple and intuitive touch control system, a wide variety of levels, and beautiful High Definition graphics.

Land-a Panda (iPhone and iPod touch) and Land-a Panda HD (iPad) will be available on the App Store from Thursday 10th March at $0.99 and $1.99 respectively*. Lite versions will also be available for free from the App Store on the same day.
