Happy Easter Puzzles from developer Jee-W is a follow up to their previous puzzle game, Santa’s Jigsaw Puzzles which we reviewed back in December. Happy Easter Puzzles is again for iPad only and just like the previous game, this one also features just three different puzzles. Unlike the previous game though, Happy Easter Puzzles does feature some improvements which make it a much better puzzle experience.

Happy Easter Puzzles now features three levels of difficulty for each puzzle. You can now choose 9, 16, or 25 pieces per puzzle. This was one of the main complaints about the previous game, that it didn’t offer enough of a challenge. The devs also got rid of the background image which used to stay on continuously on each puzzle making them way too easy to solve. Now, the background image only stays up for a few seconds after tapping on the help button. These improvements have made the game better, but there are still some areas that need work.

For starters, 3 puzzles is still too little in my opinion. There should really be much more than that because 3 puzzles can be finished rather quickly if your child is really good at puzzles. Even with the added difficulty settings, it wouldn’t take long for any child to finish these. Hopefully the dev sees fit to maybe add more puzzles in an update in order to add a bit more value to the app. I almost wish that the dev would combine Happy Easter Puzzles and Santa’s Jigsaw Puzzles into one holiday puzzle app with holiday packages either being free or as an in-app purchase. That would make more sense than to release another app that is basically the same thing, just with a different theme.

Honestly the devs could have a really good puzzle app made because the underlying game itself is good. It’s a solid puzzle app with a good user interface and the updates make it much better. The only problem I have with it is that it only has 3 puzzles included. If they could add more to it, it would have much more value to it. I’m hoping that and update might bring more puzzles.
