If you’ve ever had the urge to break an insane amount of dishware, Dish Break by developer Spin Fall might interest you. In Dish Break, the object of the game is break different kind of dishes and other assorted dishware, which also includes cups. If you’ve played games like Fruit Ninja or Veggie Samurai, then Dish Break will seem all too familiar to you. Basically, dishes fly up from the bottom and it’s your job to break everything in sight. Any dishes or cups left unbroken when they fall deducts one of your life points. Four missed and it’s game over. It’s a simple enough game to play and is the very definition of casual. Anyone will be able to pick this up and play.
There are two ways you can play Dish Break. The first method is to shoot the dishes with bullets. It’s unlimited ammo and all you do is tap the area you want to fire at. This is the simplest method to play the game as you can really just tap all over the screen the break stuff. After a while, you’l want to switch to the other mode which you can do as you’re playing. In the other mode, you can still tap to break dishes. The only difference now is you can also tap and hold in order to drag dishes around the screen and throw them at other dishes.
Now, the game is fun, but there are a few minor annoyances that occur. Each time you start the game up, the Game Center screen pops up to show the leaderboards. This can be quite annoying since it happens every time you start it up, even if the game was already open and sitting in the task tray. There are also a few gameplay annoyances such as dishes not breaking sometimes when you throw them at other dishes which causes them to just bounce off and fall to the bottom making you lose a life. There are also times when taps don’t seem to register properly or lag, causing you to also lose a life. On top of that, the game is a bit buggy and will just shut down in the middle of a game.
Despite some of these problems, Dish Break is still fun to play. I just hope they fix some of these issues with the game. Since the game is free, I can deal with a few little issues here and there. At least the developers seem to update quite frequently so that’s a good sign.
