If you read the review for Touch Pets Dogs 2, then you’ll pretty much know everything you need to know about Touch Pets Cats. Both games are quite similar to each other except that in this one, you adopt cats instead of dogs. Touch Pets Cats also doesn’t include a backyard level to play on, but then again, most cats are indoor animals so it makes sense not to include a backyard mode. Other differences include a few different toys that the cats can play with and instead of using bones, you use catnip. Other than that, it’s basically the same game. In Touch Pets Cats, you can adopt one of 5 different breeds of cats of various colors and sex.

Touch Pets Cats takes into account almost every aspect of owning a cat. You have to feed your cat, groom your cat, play with your cat, and even cater to it when it needs to go to the bathroom. Thankfully its all done virtually so none of the smells associated with pet owning exist. Like a real pet, you must keep your cat happy. Keeping your cat happy means that you’ll earn more coins and more coins means more things you can buy in the store. You see, Touch Pets Cats is a “freemium” game. That means that the base game itself maybe be free, but things you need to buy in the store require money. There are two forms of currency you can earn to buy things in the store – coins and catnip.  Lucky for you though, coins are quite abundant in the game and if you keep your pet happy, you will continuously earn coins. You also earn bones as well for each level you rank up but those you earn much slowly. Real money comes into play if you are too lazy to actual play the game and want to buy items right away. Through in game purchasing, you can purchase coins and bones with real money. It’s honestly not necessary to do so as again, you earn quite a bit of coins from just keeping your pets happy.

A majority of the game is spent tending to the needs of your cat. If you cat wants to play, you can play you can have it chase a remote control mouse or a ball of yarn around. If your cat is hungry, you can feed it water or food. Your cat also likes to be petted and groomed. All of these things will help keep your cat happy and your coins plentiful.

Like any other social type game, you can visit the homes of your friends and set up play dates with their dogs. You can interact with their pets like you would your own. This is similar to games like Farmville for instance where you would visit a friends farm and fertilize their crops for them. It’s a nice touch and one that rewards you with XP and more coins.

Touch Pets Cats is a wonderfully addicting game for kids and adults alike. Because these cats move around constantly, you won’t be bored of the game like you would with other social games that require farming or waiting around for money to appear. There is really no waiting around in this game. As soon as you start it up, you can do any number of activities with your cat and for as long as you see fit. The only thing about Touch Pets Cats you might not like are the ads that appear in some portions of the game. To me, they don’t really get in the way at all and after a while you don’t even notice them anymore. One word of warning about the game however. Because it is possible to use real money to purchase coins and catnip, you might want to keep a watchful eye when your children are playing the game and make sure they don’t accidentally buy anything with real money. As a precaution, you should also turn off in-app purchases with restrictions.
