Stoned 3D is a shape matching game from developer 3Dgrafix. If you were looking for a different kind of “stoned” game, this isn’t it. Instead, what you’ll get here is a polished, well made shape matching game with a stone-age theme that children should enjoy. Stone blocks of different shapes are thrown down the side of a cliff by cavemen. You have to swipe a  stone board at the bottom and match the shaped holes to the shapes being thrown down. It’s an easy game to master and one that will appeal more to children than to adults.

As stated above, the object of the game is to match the shapes dropped with the shapes below on the moving board. It’s very similar to those games that toddlers play where they try to push shaped blocks into shaped holes. The game starts off slow, but speeds up the farther along you get to increase the challenge. It’s doesn’t take too long to learn how to play the game and most should get the hang of it after about a minute of play. It’s an easy game to pick up and play. The graphics are also very good and the stone-age theme adds a unique feel to the game.

Stoned 3D  is a good kids game and one that will get them to better recognize shapes and how to match them.  The game gets faster as you progress, but I think it’ll help kids improve their recognition skills and get them to process what they see faster in order to improve their score. Adults can play this game too, but for me I found it to be a tad bit too easy and not challenging enough. Kids on the other hand will really enjoy this game.

HOW TO PLAY

Move the board with your finger to catch the matching stones. For some extra points try to hit the appearing dinosaurs: The faster the game gets the more points you’ll receive. But keep in mind that you only have three lives to catch as many blocks as possible! Missing one means losing a life, so better stay focused and concentrated! When the game is over you can upload your score to OpenFeint and Game Center and compare it to your friends and players over the whole world. You can also submit your score to Twitter and Facebook for some extra bragging!
