Nuclear Chickens is an independent game from developer nMile. The game itself has a rather strange premise. Basically you have to tap the chickens as they appear in order to set off a small explosion to destroy them. If you don’t tap them in time, they’ll go nuclear and destroy the world. The game itself is rather easy to play and is easy to pick up. All you do is tap on the screen where ever the chickens appear. It’s simple but with each new level, the game gets progressively harder and more challenging.

Graphically there really isn’t anything special about Nuclear Chicken. There’s only one background and it’s the same chicken over and over again. The game instead focuses on the gameplay where in the end, that’s really all the counts right? Gameplay thankfully is solid but than again, there’s only one thing you need to do and that is to tap on the chickens to stay alive. It can get a bit repetitive, but it get funner when you get further in the levels due to how hectic it gets with so many chickens on screen at once.

Nuclear Chicken can be a fun game, if you can get them to work. I was only able to play this game on my iPad 2 due to a small bug with my iPhone 4 that caused graphical elements in the game to not show up properly. I emailed the developer and he is taking a look at the problem now. Stuff like this happens sometimes with 1.0 versions of software so hopefully, the developer can sort out this issue. All in all though, the game really tests your hand-eye coordination and if they can get the graphical issues sorted out, it would be a decent casual game to check out.

Nuclear Chickens is available now in the App Store for $0.99. It is a universal app and compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.1 or later.
