Goop is a new casual game from developer Fine and Dandy Games. In the game Goop, you are charged with trying to get these little creatures called Eeeps home safely. You do so by helping them avoid dangerous drops of Goop that fall from the ceiling. There are four different Eeeps you must help out and each move in there own way. Concentrate on which Eeep does what and you’ll be able to master this game in no time. Don’t and you’ll fall prey to the Goop.
Goop should be the poster child for casual gaming. It’s by far one of the easiest games to just pick up and play with very minimal instructions. The entire game consists of either swiping left to make the Eeeps take a step backwards or tapping on them to make them move faster forward. They’ll move on their own, but you still need to manipulate their movements in order to keep them away from the falling goop. Each Eeep has their own way of moving faster so you’ll have to pay attention to the timing if you want to avoid the goop and get higher scores.
Graphically, the game is very well done. Each of the 4 levels you can play on are quite detailed and are animated as well. Animations are very smooth and look great on the iPhone 4’s Retina Display. Art style is also very nice and has a professional look about it. This doesn’t look like one of those games where it looks like a 5 year old did all the graphics. Goop looks like a game they really took the time to polish and make look really good.
Goop is a fun little casual game. The art in the game is very well done and the character designs are quirky and unique. It really is the definition of “pick up and play” as it will take you almost no time to jump in to a game and start racking the high scores. Because it’s easy to learn, kids will be able to play this game as well so it’s very suitable for all ages. There are only 4 levels you can play on at the moment so hopefully in the future, they might add more. Other than that, Goop is one of those games that is fun, addictive, and challenging.
