TGWK’s Review – A Fact Every Day v1.0 (iOS)

Wombi is known for their family friendly children’s games and apps and their latest entry, A Fact Every Day, continues this trend. A Fact Every Day is just as you would expect it to be. It’s an app that presents 1 new fact every day for an entire year. That means that the app contains 365 days worth of new facts for children to learn. That’s a lot of facts and more than I’ve seen on similarly styled apps.  A Fact Every Day also goes above and beyond some similar apps with with the inclusion of voice overs for all the facts as well as illustrations and not just text.

The app is very simple to use. Just start the app and you are presented with the day’s fact. It automatically reads it to you with the option of pressing a button to hear it again. You can also “star” the fact to save it to your list of favorites as well as “heart” the fact to share it with others. If you want to view previous facts you’ve already read, you can swipe right to read those as well. You can also tap the top bar to bring up a calendar. Click on a date to view that date’s fact. You however can not skip ahead to a future date.

A Fact Every Day is a fun educational app for children. I even found it quite enjoyable as I learned a few facts I did not know before. I like the fact that the app can read each fact out to you and that you aren’t limited to just 1 fact per day as you can swipe back and read previous facts. I also like how you can save your favorite facts to a favorites list as well as share facts with others through email or Facebook. I’m hoping Wombi updates this app periodically with new facts so that the app can extend past 365 days.

A Fact Every Day is available now in the App Store for $1.99. It is a universal app and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later.

— Learn something new every day!—

Here is the app that will last a whole year! Every day you will get a new, exciting and fun fact presented in text, picture and sound! A must for all curious and inquisitive children! And adults!

Every fact is presented with a charming illustration, an easily understood text and a reading out loud. Children that can’t yet read will be able to easily use the app totally on their own.

The clear pictures make the app work well on iPhone as well as iPad.
