GoSum is a challenging multiplayer numbers game from Aaptek Ltd. What makes this game intriguing is that the basic game has the look and feel of word games like Words With Friends or Scrabble except that instead of creating words, you must create equations to complete your turn and gain points. GoSum also plays pretty much exactly like the two mentioned games – make equations, string together already placed equations to make new equations with what you have on your rack, and whoever has the most points after all the tiles are used, wins.

Equations you can make are limited to the +, -, x, and ÷ operators and numbers from 0-9. You are limited to 6 numbers on your rack at any given time and 2 operators. That means you are fairly limited to what kind of equations you can make. Also equations must be formatted in a specific way where there can only be an equation on 1 side and the answer on the other side. This limits what you can put down sometimes as for instance, lets say 4+6=10 was already on there. You can’t continue off this equation and make 4+6=10=5+5 for instance. This would make it a much more complex game with more ways to put down answers.

Despite this, GoSum makes for a fun game. I for one have never really been that good at Words with Friends or Scrabble as my wife always beats me in those games but with GoSum, I actually have a winning chance against her. Right now in its current form, GoSum is fun, but a bit limited. However, I have no doubt that if the game has support from its fans, the devs will see fit to add more features and beef up the type of equations the game will allow for.
