Dishonored: Rat Assassin v1.0 Review for iOS []

If you find fruit or vegetables too cute to hack and slash and you are itching for something a bit more gross and adult to cut up, well Bethesda has the game for you. Dishonored: Rat Assassin is a cutting game loosely based on the upcoming console and PC game, Dishonored. Again, basically think of it as Fruit Ninja, but with rats instead of fruit. Most people squeal at the sight of rats, so at least in this case, you probably wouldn’t mind hacking away at them. As a warning though, you probably wouldn’t want your kids playing this game as chopping up animals isn’t something you really want them to learn how to do nor do you want them to think doing that is fun. Just saying.

With that said,Dishonored: Rat Assassin is a surprisingly good game, despite the gory nature. There are 3 different modes of play, each fun in their own way. There is the Challenge mode in which you play through a series of different levels in order to try and reach the target score. There is the Assassination mode which is untimed. In this mode you just try to get the highest score possible without blowing up 3 bombs and or letting 3 rats go unslashed. The last mode is is Timed mode in which you try to get the highest score in a given amount of time. Those who have played Fruit Ninja should be familiar with these modes as they are similar to those in Fruit Ninja.

There may only be 3 modes of play, but Dishonored: Rat Assassin is full on fun. This is a very well made alternative to Fruit Ninja that so happens to also be free. In fact, there are some aspects of the game that are even better than Fruit Ninja such as the ability to do multiple cuts instead of just one meaning its possible to do multiple combos simultaneously. Again, the game’s subject is a bit controversial though so just be warned that this might not be something you want your kids playing.

Dishonored: Rat Assassin is available now in the App Store for Free. It is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.

In a cut throat world, the boldest measures are the safest. Help rid the Dunwall streets of plagued rats, one slice, dice, and crossbow shot at a time.
