Ajapa the Tortoise is a new platform puzzler from Olatunji World and developed by Coatsink Software. The story behind Ajapa is as follows: Ajapa has agreed to race across the many kingdoms. He must use all his physical skill to make it to the finish line along with unique plant powers that will help him overcome obstacles. Use your puzzle solving skills to help him traverse dangerous lands on what may seem like impossible odds.
Just so you know, there isn’t any actual racing in the game. Instead, the game consists of a series of puzzles in which you must solve in order to get Ajapa from point A to point B. The only physical skill set Ajapa has is slowly moving left or right as well as being able to jump short distance and climb ledges. The interesting stuff happens when you are able to start using plant based power ups to create elemental helpers. These are things you can place anywhere on the level to help Ajapa overcome those difficult sections.
Controls for Ajapa aren’t too difficult to master either. Hold the right side of the screen to move right and hold the left to move left. To jump, just swipe diagonally from Ajapa to make him just at an angle. Swipe straight up to jump straight up. Other than that, you just need to move him around to where he needs to be.
Overall, Ajapa is a decent platform puzzler. It can be a bit on the slow side, but I’ll let that slide since Ajapa is a tortoise. The levels are pretty challenging once you get going and I like the uniqueness of using the elemental power-ups. Also the graphics in Ajapa are pretty good with some really great level designs. There are 40 levels total so it should be able to keep you buy for a while and you’ll most likely be playing through each level more than once.
