If there’s one thing you should always have handy, it’s a place to jot down notes and ideas. Since many of us now carry smartphones, the easiest place to keep these now is on our devices. Many probably use the built in Notes app to jot stuff down but more often than not, you probably find that things get lost in it, especially if you have a lot of notes in there already. That’s why there are lots of other third party apps that try to solve the note taking problem by making it simpler and easier to interact with. One of these apps is IDEAZ. IDEAZ is an app that makes note taking and idea remembering much easier and much more visual.

For starters, IDEAZ ha a very simple user interface, very similar to Clear, a todo list manager. IDEAZ however is for notes but many of the basic UI similarities are there. You start off with a blank white screen in which to add ideas too. Pull down to add a new idea. You can add text, a photo, and change the background color of your idea. Press the check mark when done. Your idea when now show up on the main screen. Pull down again on the main screen to add another idea. Use a different color or photo to differentiate your ideas.

Now, within each idea, you can add a sub list of ideas that have to to with the original idea. Just tap on the idea and you’ll be taken to another blank white screen. Pull down again to add a sub-idea. This time, you can add more than just text and photos. You can now also add a much longer idea, an audio note, and even a little sketch. You can add as many sub-ideas as you want.

If you want to edit one of your ideas, just swipe the idea left to enter the editing screen again. Here is where you’ll also be able to delete and idea by tapping the trash can. If you swipe right, you can actually share your idea via email, Facebook, or Twitter. Ideas can also be rearranged by dragging them and reordering them.

Overall, IDEAZ is a very unique note taking app. It’s a very minimalistic looking app and not as visually striking as some other note taking apps out there, but the minimalistic approach makes the app very easy to use and very easy to visually scan all your notes quickly. I will say, it has a very iOS7 feel to it in terms of how simple it looks so that may end up being a really good thing if you’re looking for an app to match the rest of iOS7’s look and feel once it’s released.
