Sharing with Duckie Deck – Make Sharing Fun (iOS Review)

duckie_deck_iconIf there’s one thing I’ve learned from watching my two kids and how they interact with iOS apps, it’s that many of these apps really do teach them useful lessons and ideas. Not only can they be educational, they can also teach them how to interact with other children. For instance, if you want to teach them how to share with other, you may want to give Sharing with Duckie Deck a look. It’s an educational app that teaches children why sharing is so important and how to make it fun..

I’ll start by saying that Sharing with Duckie Deck isn’t just one or two mini games. It’s six. There are 6 different mini games in total and each are very different from each other. Basically how it starts out is that they are presented with six hands holding on to various objects. Just choose a hand to start one of the mini games. For instance, choose the hand holding the rocket ship and you’ll be taken to the Toy Joy game. This game has children playing with various little toys on screen. When they are ready to exchange a toy with another child in the game, just tap on them and they will agree happily to swap toys so that everyone gets a turn playing with different toys. This is a very neat way of showing them that sharing can be fun. The other games include activities like drawing, coloring, a matching game, and even decorating a cake.

Graphically, the app is very cute. They are very colorful and lively and I really love how each of the children in the game are of different ethnicity. Very nice touch there. The user interface is also very easy to get around for children which is a big plus not making it overly complicated. Audio is another area in which the app excels at with lots of fun sounds and background music.

Overall, I really like Sharing with Duckie Deck. My daughter played it and really enjoyed it. It’s one of those apps that really kept her occupied for long periods of time. It helps that the games were fun and each were full of visual and audio stimulation.
