Sony PlayStation Vita TV Mini Console Announced [Video]

The big news today is Sony’s announcement of an updated PlayStation Vita portable gaming console and the new PlayStation Vita TV. The more interesting of the news is the PlayStation Vita TV which is a new standalone device that will play PS Vita games, have media playing functionality, and will allow you to use a standard PlayStation controller with it.  It will also allow for PS4’s remote play feature meaning you can use the device to play PS4 games on a different TV from where your PS4 is connected. It will cost around $100 and be released in November.

What makes this interesting for me at least is that I know I will be getting a PS4 and have a specific TV at home I will be connecting this too. However, I have other TV’s in the house that I wouldn’t mind playing PS4 games on, but I do not want the hassle of moving my console to other TV’s or buying a second PS4. Since this is only about $100, it might be a cheap way of being able to play PS4 games on another TV through remote play without having to move or buy another PS4. The added bonus would also be the ability to play PS Vita games on a TV as well. Of course you could also just shell out an extra $100 and get a real PS Vita which is portable.
