Little Galaxy – How Far Can You Jump From Planet to Planet (iOS App Review)

little_galaxy_iconSmartphones are perfect for casual games mainly because you have it with you pretty much all the time and it’s really simple to just pick up a game and play anywhere you are. As much as I love console gaming, I find myself playing a lot more casual games these days mainly because I’m not home as much as I want to be and it’s so much easier just picking up my phone to game. That’s why I’m always on the lookout for interesting casual games that can get me through the day. One such game I came across recently is that of Little Galaxy by Bitmap Galaxy. Little Galaxy is an “endless” jumping game where the object of the game is to jump from planet to planet while collecting stars and ultimate seeing how many points you can get before time runs out.

What makes this the perfect casual game is how simple it is to play one handed, yet still challenging enough where you’re not bored playing it. Basically the game is a 1 tap affair where you must tap on the screen to jump, but only at the precise time or risk shooting off into space with no planet to land on. Jumps will be affected by the gravity of planets as well as the gravity of suns. You don’t really need to guess the angle though as usually, a trail of stars will guide you as to which angle is best. Don’t take too long jumping from planet to planet though as you have to watch out for the blackness of space that is  chasing you.

As simple and challenging as the gameplay is, what I really like are the graphics. The art work is really good in Little Galaxy and has a “happy” feeling to it.  The audio in the game is also pretty fantastic with great sound effects and music. If you don’t like the music though, you can use your own music in the game.

Little Galaxy is a fun, casual game for those with little time to really sit down and play long games. It’s a fun game to play for a few minutes here and there when time permits and it’s fun seeing how far you can get and how many points you can acquire. Like most endless type games, you’ll also unlock special power-up as you play along with skins to dress your character up in and mini challenges to unlock. Overall, it’s a great game that the whole family can enjoy.

Little Galaxy is a game inspired by a real story of a young scientist, who reached out for his dream to find a new home. We have met this boy and were touched by his story as he lost everyone and everything, we are trying to help him to build functional prototype of jumping space boots so he can start his journey.

We ran out of money and because we are definitely better at making games than building strange space travel prototypes, we have made this game. We want to use it to get the necessary funding to help him. Please help the boy and please help us to spread the idea of space jumping!

Little Galaxy is all about space jumping, simple one touch game play, lovely graphics, challenging quests and star dust on your cheeks.
