Blooper Team is aware that some players who just purchased their new game, Basement Crawl, are experiencing issues with the game that range from connection issues to lag. These are issues that didn’t seem to come up during the pre-release testing phase and QA process and didn’t present themselves until after its release. As you know, Basement Crawl had delayed the game once before so it was a surprise to them as well when new issues arose.
I just got the game yesterday for review and haven’t had a chance to play it yet but because of this issue, I’ll be holding back the review until Blooper Team issues a patch for the game.
Below is the open letter Blooper Team issued today from Vice-President Piotr Bielatowicz. Hopefully they can squash whatever bugs are in the code and issue a new patch soon.
Basement Crawl was released on the 25th February. Since launch, we have encountered several unexpected issues with the Global Multiplayer mode, including many players who have experienced problems with connecting to games, lag and spawning issues, among other glitches. We are very sorry that players have had to deal with these issues and it is not what any of us were expecting. We can assure you we will be fixing these issues and issuing an update in the very near future.
In our pre-release testing and QA process, we didn’t encounter these issues. They emerged only after the game went public. Had we known about these issues, we would have delayed the release further until all known bugs were fixed.
With that said, as a whole, the community has been patient and understanding and we want to thank you for that.
We have been listening carefully to the community and what you have to say about the game, and we want to assure you that we will be fixing all outstanding bugs. We have received and continue to receive great feedback from players that has helped us identify the issues and we will be fixing as fast as possible.
Once we have the game we released functioning as it should, we will be implementing several additional features that have been suggested by fans, so we can be sure we deliver the game players want. More than a few people have suggested that the game is missing a single-player mode and a proper tutorial, and we will address both of those issues.
On top of this, in an effort to thank you for your patience, we will be adding new game modes, including Elimination (each player only has several respawns) and Rounds (last man standing wins given round, the player with most rounds won will win whole match); as well as more maps and small new features that will increase the scope of the game.
We want to make sure that all of you know that we are listening to what you have to say, that we are working our hardest to give you a game that is what you, the players, want, and that we truly appreciate your patience as we work though these issues. Our goal is to produce a game that we are proud to release.
In order for us to do this, if you have already purchased the game and are experiencing bugs please let us know at: email@example.com. This will help us ensure that we have eliminated all of the bugs completely.
After our second update, we will continue to support the game and the players by adding more features and expanding the game greatly.
We will continue to keep in touch with you with updates on our progress and to ensure that we are getting feedback from you all.
