Today is the day that PlayStation’s new PS Now service becomes available to everyone, and if you don’t know what it is, it’s basically Sony’s new video game rental / streaming service that will bring older PS3 games to your PS4. PS Now will be built directly into the PlayStation Store with over a hundred games to start with.
Rental is based on time for each game and can be for 4 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days. Prices at the moment seem a bit high and if you still own a PS3, you could probably find many of these games for cheap online or at your local retailer. Game saves are uploaded to the cloud so any game you don’t finish, you can always go back to later and continue where you left off. You will most likely need a fast internet connection though to make the most out of the service.
I’ll probably give it a whirl tonight and see what’s on there, but I can’t really see myself using it much based on price and the fact that I already have too much to play currently on my PS4. If their was a monthly subscription fee for an all-you-can-play option like Netflix, I would possibly consider that as a better option.
