Do you like Pac-Man? If the answer is yes, you might want to check out the latest free-to-play Pac-Man game from NAMCO called, PAC-MAN 256. Unlike the Pac-Man you knew in the past, this version of the game is billed as an endless runner with Pac-Man traversing an endless maze collecting PAC-DOTZ and avoiding those pesky ghosts. On a side note, this game was created by the same devs who made Crossy Road.

Pac-Man 256 plays like your average game of Pac-Man except that there is no real way to clear the board. It’s an endless runner type game in which you must always move forward otherwise you’ll be swallowed up by Pac-Man’s long time nemesis, the Glitch. The goal of the game really is to collect as many dots as possible without having any of the ghosts gobble you up. In fact, being Pac-Man, you should be the one gobbling them up and you can if you find the power pellets scattered throughout your run.

What makes Pac-Man 256 a bit different are the power-ups you can gain and equip at the beginning of each run. These can range from lasers to freezing abilities. Using power-ups however uses credits and you’re only given 6 credits at a time. Credits take a while to recharge too so best to hold off on using them until you really need to. You can play power-up free games without using your credits.

Other than that, the game does play much like Crossy Road but with a familiar Pac-Man theme. It has the classic look and sounds, with a more modern twist, making this a pretty good looking Pac-Man game. It’s a fun game for those who enjoy Pac-Man and one that you can spend much time wasting away on. Even if you’re a fan of Crossy Road, which I know there are a ton of, you should really love Pac-Man 256 as well.
