Timberman Review [Mobile]

timberman_iconI play a lot of casual games on my phone because usually, I only have a few minutes here and a few minutes there if I’m playing something on the go. I want to play a game I can finish a quick rounds of and that usually means a puzzle game or an endless runner type game. Timeberman by Digital Melody is one such game that requires quick reflexes and even quicker thumbs to achieve a high score. It’s one of those games that keeps you coming back for the higher score and the more you play, the better you get.

Timberman is a really easy game to pick up. Basically you just tap on the left or right side of the screen to have your lumberjack chop wood on that side. You switch back and forth to avoid the branches that would otherwise crush your lumberjack and kill him. You have the option of tapping slower but make the game easier, but you also lose time this way and will also die if you run out of time. Tapping adds time, but only a tiny amount so your best option is to tap really quickly on the easy sections and slow down a bit on the harder ones. It can be quite difficult at the beginning, but you’ll get better at it as you play.

Graphically, Timeberman features that familiar retro style blocky art that many of these type of games have come to rely on. I don’t mind it as long as the gameplay is solid.

Timberman is another one of those highly addicting casual games that are so simple to learn and very hard to master. It’s one of those quick tap games where you really need good hand-eye coordination to get the high scores, but with tons of practice, you’ll get the high scores in no time. There really isn’t much depth to the game though, but hey, it’s a casual game that anyone can play and it’s fun enough I think where you’ll keep coming back for more. Timberman is free and has ads, but can be disabled with a simple in-app purchase.
