Note Fighter Review | Mobile

notefighter_iconLearning how to play the piano can be quite a daunting task, especially for those who have never touched a piano before. Reading musical notes can also be very intimidating so a lot of people don’t even try. I’m here to tell you that there’s really nothing to be scared of and there’s a game out there called Note Fighter that can get you reading basic musical notation and get you playing some very popular tunes on a piano.

What Note Fighter will not do though is turn you into a pro. This game mainly teaches you the basics of reading musical notes and playing simple songs using one or two fingers. It doesn’t teach you the more advanced stuff like chords. You’re also playing all these songs on a piano with just one scale so a high C for instance would be the same thing as a low C on the piano, which can be a little confusing if you try playing these songs on a real piano later.

Aside from those tiny issues, Note fighter is actually pretty neat. The game plays similar to other music games (like Guitar Hero) where you have to tap the piano keys before the corresponding musical notes get to the end. For beginners, the musical notes will have what they are at the bottom of them. Same goes for the piano keys. There will also be no penalty for playing notes too early or late. When you move to medium difficulty, timing will be taking into consideration and when you move to hard, the letters under the notes and piano keys will be gone.

Note Fighter is a solid piano game that really will teach you how to read musical notes and piano basics. If you want to give the game a whirl, there is a free version of NOte Fighter that includes 3 songs – Jingle Bells, Pachelbel’s Canon, and Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye. You can unlock the rest of the songs (9) for $1.99. It’s perfect for players of all ages and will get you playing the piano in no time.
