Zombie Gunship Survival Review | Mobile

Zombies. You either love them or hate them, but there’s no denying that zombies fill a need. When developers need some kind of universal symbol for evil that doesn’t offend race, nationality, or religion, zombies do a perfectly good job of filling that role. That’s why I love zombie games. I don’t feel bad about “killing” them because technically, they’re already dead. With that said, the latest zombie themed game I’m checking out is Flaregames’ latest, Zombie Gunship Survival. Unlike most zombie games that have players up close and personal with the undead, Zombie Gunship Survival has you up on the air in an AC-130 gunship dispatching zombies from afar.

Let me start this off by saying how much fun I’m having with Zombie Gunship Survival right now. I’ve played some other games in the past where you were flying around in an AC-130 gunship and I’ve always found them quite enjoyable. Add zombies into the mix and you got a winner in my book.

Zombie Gunship Survival has elements of action, base building, tower defense, and even a bit of RPG thrown in. Not only are you tasked with maintaining a base of operations to keep everything running smoothly, you must also defend it from zombie attacks. That means slowly building it up to withstand attacks while still being able to carry out day to day operations. Your base of operations provides you with an area to store looted materials and weapons and a place to upgrade troops and your gunship.

When you’re not in your base, you’re flying high in a AC-130, defending troops below who are running raids to find materials and new weapons. Raids occur on remote bases and usually an night time so most of the game is seen through the use of a night vision filter. It’s an interesting look that helps to separate the zombies from the friendlies. With that said, the visuals are pretty good and quite realistic, which adds to the overall ambiance of the game.

If there’s anything to complain about, it’s that gaining material can be a bit of a grind if you’re trying to level up your base quickly. Not only that, the difficulty really ramps up on anything other than easy mode.

If you like zombies and you like gunships, you can’t go wrong with Zombie Gunship Survival. It’s a fun game with lots of interesting elements that will keep you coming back for more. If anything, it’ll provide some hours of enjoyment for those looking for something different to play that is more action oriented than your typical casual mobile game. Plus it’s free.
