Steven Universe: Save the Light – First 30 Minutes of Gameplay | PS4

Steven Universe: Save the Light

In a refreshing change of pace, I’m currently giving Steven Universe: Save the Light a go. Just a quick thank you first to Cartoon Network Games for providing a promo code so I could check this out and get some gameplay footage up on our Youtube channel.

An original adventure developed by Cartoon Network and Grumpyface Studios in partnership with Steven Universe series creator Rebecca Sugar, Save the Light is a sequel to the 2015 hit mobile game Attack the Light. Assemble a party from eight unique heroes – including newly playable characters like Peridot, Greg Universe and more – and explore colorful 3D environments in search of new challenges and powers for the team.

This isn’t going to be a full review just yet, but what I will say is that what I’ve played so far, I like. The game is super colorful and bright and captures that whole Steven Universe feel to it. It’s not a full blown, super deep RPG, but I do like how the combat isn’t entirely turn based and is more based on how many star points you have and how you manage them. I also like that you can control the outcome of hits and defense based on timing.

Overall, it’s a fun game to play and look at and I’m hoping to get deeper into it.

Review code provided to us by Cartoon Network Games for coverage purposes.
