What do you get when you cross something like Flappy Birds, Crossy Roads, and the game of basketball? You get Bouncy Hoops, a casual basketball game that pretty much any one can get into and play. It’s fun, addictive, and even if you don’t like basketball, you might actually like this.
Bouncy Hoops is a game that requires a lot of well timed taps. Each tap bounces a basketball higher and higher and it’s your goal to make it into the hoops and try to beat your highest score. There’s a time limit in place but each time you make it into the hoop, the time resets. Obvioulsy you want to get into the hoops as quickly as possible before time runs out or else it’s game over. There are three modes of play, arcade, timed, and climb. Climb mode is probably the hardest because not only do you have to make the ball into the hoops, you also have to avoid the lava floor. Yup. The floor is lava.
Other elements include collecting coins which you can use to unlock mystery loot boxes that have different balls to unlock.
Aside from the gameplay, what I really like about this game is the presentation. I love the pixelated art style and the background music is pretty good. It’s upbeat and gets you in the groove. What I don’t like too much of are the ads, but that’s to be expected with a free game. You can remove the ads with an in-app purchase of just $0.99.
Overall, Bouncy Hoops is really enjoyable. It’s a very simple game that easy to get in to, but it’s also plenty challenging. The addictive part comes with you trying to beat your highest score with each run and while that can be repetitive, I don’t mind it when it’s fun.
