Adonit Pro 4 Stylus Review

Adonit Pro 4

It’s been a long while since I’ve looked at a stylus and for good reason. I just haven’t had a need for one in my day to day life. Most of the notes I take, I type and when I do need to scribble some notes on a photo or screenshot, I just use my finger. That’s not to say a stylus doesn’t have its place. When drawing, a stylus is much more precise and pretty much the only reason I end up using one when needed. That’s why a stylus still comes in handy from time to time, just as long as it’s one that is accurate like the Adonit Pro 4 Stylus.

Adonit doesn’t make styluses like everyone else does. These don’t have generic thick rubber tipped nubs on them. Instead Adonit uses a fine pen-like tip with a soft-touch precision disc. The disc is clear and allows you to see exactly where you’ll be writing which makes the Adonit Pro 4 Stylus one of the most precise styluses out there, that doesn’t need a battery or a Bluetooth connection.

The plastic disc is also made of a material that makes  it scratch free on all touchscreen and and has a good amount of travel so you can find a comfortable writing angle. Note that the disc most stay flat on the screen for it to register correctly. From my tests with it, it’s pretty darn accurate, much more so then most of those squishy rubber tipped ones you see.

While I’d buy the Adonit Pro 4 Stylus for the accuracy alone, it’s also really well made and smartly designed. The body is made of durable aluminum while other parts are copper. To keep the tip protected, Adonit provides a screw on cap that can also be screwed onto the back of the stylus so you won’t lose it when in use. The Adonit Pro 4 Stylus also has a built in streamlined clip.

Adonit says the Adonit Pro 4 Stylus will work on any touchscreen surface and from my limited testing, seems to be true. It worked on my phones, Amazon Fire Tablet, and Apple iPad. It is a bit less perfect if your devices have a glass screen protector, so be aware of that. Aside from that, I’d recommend the Adonit Pro 4 Stylus if you really need one that’s accurate and well made. I honestly don’t use one very often anymore, but when I do, I at least know I’ll have one that won’t let me down.
