Zombieland: Double Tapper | Mobile Review

Zombieland: Double TapperI love zombies. I don’t care that they’re an overused story element in games because to me, zombies are a threat everyone in the world can have in common. Now that that’s out of the way, one of the newest zombie themed games to arrive on mobile is based on a movie of the same name. Zombielands: Double Tapper is out to coincide with the release of Zombielands: Double Tap, which is a sequel to the original Zombielands movie.

While I’m not a huge fan of idle tapping games, what caught my attention about Zombielands: Double Tappers was initially the graphics. I noticed that they’ve captured all the main characters in this game quite well, despite them being in a deformed, big headed, cartoon type of way. I like that the character models as well as the zombies are portrayed in a more lighthearted manner, despite the fact that this is a zombie killing game. Overall presentation is also really good. It’s very colorful and a nice change of pace from the usual dark pallets you see in most other zombie games.

Gameplay wise, this is one of those tapping games. The more you tap, the more damage you do to zombies. You can play this without tapping, but you won’t do as much damage. You can also exit the mission to the main menu or close the app and it’ll still play on its own while you’re away. You can even collect money and bonuses earned while away. I do like that with this game as usually, these tapping games make you stay in the app most of the time while this one doesn’t.

Zombieland: Double Tapper also plays like an RPG where you’ll be able to level up your stats, weapons, and collect new characters to use while you play. Of course since this is a free-to-play game, you’ll have to earn materials and in-game currency to upgrade and earn new characters and weapons. You can spend real money or watch numerous video ads as well. You don’t have to do either.

Despite the usual in-apps and real money purchases, Zombieland: Double Tapper is a pretty solid game. Being able to play a tapping game without actually having to tap or be in the game is great for those who don’t have time to be tapping all day. This is a fun little game based off the Zombieland movies and if you’re a fan of those, you’ll probably love Zombieland: Double Tappers.
