Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is Incredibly Fun | Review

FAll Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Most super popular online multiplayer games consist of lots of players and guns. This can get old however as this genre of games is super crowded. Mediatonic and Devolver Digital look to change this with the release of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout on PlayStation 4 and PC via STEAM.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout flings hordes of contestants together online in a mad dash through round after round of escalating chaos until one victor remains. Battle bizarre obstacles, shove through unruly competitors and overcome the unbending laws of physics as you stumble towards greatness. Leave your dignity at the door and prepare for hilarious failure in your quest to claim the crown.

  • Massive Online Pandemonium: Dive into a series of ridiculous challenges and wild obstacle courses with masses of other competitors online, all with the hopes of making the cut and advancing to the next round of mayhem.
  • Competitive & Cooperative: Shift between competitive free-for-alls and cooperative challenges where the losing team all get eliminated.
  • Comically Physical: Watch in delight as your fellow competitors bend, bounce, and bash their way to hilarious, physics-based failure.
  • Delightfully Customizable: Fail in style with everything from fashionable pineapple couture to the latest in bunny hats available to customize your look in Fall Guys.

Basically, you start the game off against 60 fellow combatants. This is a game show where the last person standing is the winner. Basically you compete in a series of mini games where only those who qualify make it to the next round. Sometimes the games are every man for themselves and others, it’s a team based effort. Games can range from obstacle courses to team based soccer matches and more. There’s a good variety of mini games and each are chosen at random during each round.

Each “battle” consists of 4 rounds with players being eliminated in each. The winner at the end receives the elusive gold crown which you can trade in for exclusive skins for your player. Even if you don’t win, you still can level up and receive game tokens that you use to also trade in for skins. Leveling up also unlocks cosmetic items. So even if you don’t win, you still get something.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is incredibly fun and is a refreshing change of pace from what I typically play online. It’s different, very hectic, and fun for the entire family. If you are playing on the PlayStation 4, you will need a PS Plus account it seems and for the month of August, it’s free for all PS Plus members. With that said, I’d definitely say check it out if you have PS Plus as it’s well worth it for the quirkiness and fun factor alone.
