I’ve talked for years that the one thing you must have in your car is a dashcam. This is mainly for your safety and peace of mind knowing that when something unfortunate happens, you have video proof. Well, I’m adding another item to the must-carry list and that’s a portable jump starter. I’m sure many of you, like myself, have been stranded in a parking lot or side of the road with a dead battery with no one around to help you. Why rely on a stranger or someone who has to come and get you when you can just carry around a jump starter that will 100% start your car and get you to where you need to go. If you’re going to carry around a jump starter, why not the Limitless Innovations JumpSmart 10-in-1 Multi-tool that is so much more than just a basic jump starter.
I’ve looked at another jump starter in the past which was more in line with what you would associate as a jump starter. That one was just a battery pack that you could attach jumper cables to. The JumpSmart 10-in-1 Multi-tool is different and looks like an ordinary flashlight. It’s no ordinary flashlight as you’ll soon find out.
For starters, the JumpSmart is a pretty good flashlight. It has four modes (high, low, S.O.S., and strobe), and can also flash red as a warning. Max output is 330 Lumen with a beam distance of about 500ft. This is a fully rechargeable unit so no need for batteries to power the flashlight. When you plug in the jumper cables, there’s also a mini LED light on there so it’s easier to see what you’re doing under the hood when it’s dark.
On the back of the flashlight, there’s a cap and on the cap, there’s a thermometer and a compass along with a hand rubber strap. The compass seems fairly accurate and the thermometer is close to what it says about my area on my phone. I’d probably use it as a reference and not really as exact seeing as it’s pretty small.
If you unscrew the watertight cap, this is where all the ports are located. There’s the jump start port that only fits the jumper cables. Then there are two USB-A ports (5V / 2.4A) and a MicroUSB port for charging the JumpSmart. The battery in the JumpSmart is an 8000mAh 4-cell battery with a peak jump start current of 800A. Under the cap, you’ll also find an S.O.S. alarm for emergencies.
Lastly, there’s a reflective strip on the side of the JumpSmart that makes it highly visible at night.
As I mentioned earlier in this review, the Limitless Innovations JumpSmart 10-in-1 Multi-tool is a must-have item you need with you at all times in your car. You might not use it today, or tomorrow, or even a year down the line, but I can guarantee that one day you will.
