EGV Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is Cheap, but Surprisingly Good | Review

EGV Screen Protector

For my last few daily phones, I’ve forgone the use of a screen protector. Why? Basically it’s because I had what were considered not very popular phones and I honestly didn’t think I needed them. However, most of those phones did end up with tiny, tiny little surface scratches on some parts of the screen. With the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, my current daily, I didn’t want to risk the chance of scratching up that gorgeous display, especially since I bought the phone. I didn’t want to use glass though, as I’ve heard mixed results with the finger print reader, so I went in search of one on Amazon. I only had a few conditions. It had to be easy to install, it had to be inexpensive, and it had to have good ratings (even though we all know those can be faked). My search led me to the EGV Screen Protector with 800+ reviews and it only cost $9 for a pack of three.

The EGV Screen Protector for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is a TPU style protector that is thin and flexible. The material is also said to be self-healing against minor abrasions and scratches. I also bought this one because it looked like it was super simple to install and it was.

I haven’t used a screen protector like this in a long time, but it looks like the installation process for these has really evolved. It comes with this little plastic tool that clips on to the USB-C port. You use that to line up the screen protector on your display. You basically lift one edge up, squeegee it to the edge, and then do the same for the next. Then you take off the front film and your done. These type of screen protectors used to be a pain in the butt to install and line up correctly but now, they come out perfect and bubble free. I don’t think I’ve ever installed a protector of this type so quickly and perfectly before.

The EGV Screen Protector has a cutout on the top for the front facing camera and the edges almost go all the way to the edges of the display. It doesn’t though because it makes some space in for case usage. I have all different kinds of cases right now and all of them clear the screen protector, so that’s a big plus. I’m also happy to say that the finger print reader works perfectly as well and has no issues at all reading my print. In terms of touch usage, the screen protector is fairly smooth and my fingers don’t have any issues sliding across the screen, even during heavy game usage.

So with that said, if you’re looking for a good screen protector that is inexpensive, look no further than the EGV Screen Protector for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. You can’t beat the price of $9 and the fact that it comes with three means you won’t feel so bad if you screw up installing the first one, which if you watch the instructional video, you won’t. I just love the fact that once it’s on, you’ll forget that it’s even there. It is well worth the money for that little extra peace of mind.
