Incipio Cases for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Keeps Your Phone Protected and Bacteria Free | Review

I don’t know about you, but I’m still the type to wrap my phone up in a case. Despite the fact that phones are supposed to be able to take drops better these days, I still don’t trust a naked phone to survive a drop on concrete. That’s why I still keep my phones protected. However, I don’t just use any case. I want a case that is not only protective, but also looks good and on top of that, ones that might have some added benefits other cases don’t have. For example, the Incipio Duo, Grip, and Organicore cases for the Samsung galaxy S21 Ultra 5G are very much what I look for in phone cases and their line-up does a good job checking all the right boxes on my list of features.

Incipio Galaxy S21 Ultra Case

INCIPIO ORGANICORE

So what makes the Incipio Oganicore different from most cases on the market? This is one of the only cases that I know of that is made from eco-friendly plant-based materials which makes this case 100% compostable. That means it reduces landfill waste by naturally re-entering the environment. That’s a good thing because I can’t tell you how many phone cases I’ve just thrown away because I no longer had the phone anymore.

Aside from the organic materials, the Incipio Organicore can survive an 8ft drop, it has raised edges to help protect your screen when placed face down, and is wireless charging compatible.

What’s interesting about this material is that it kind of feels like rubber and has some good flexibility. The surface itself has almost a soft-touch like feeling to it, even though it doesn’t have that coating on it, and it feels really good in your hands thanks to the smooth curved edges. The case also has an interesting texture which is smooth, but also imperfect at the same time. It’s hard to describe, but scratching the case doesn’t hurt its looks, if that makes any sense.

Lastly it has integrated buttons and all the necessary holes for all the ports, speakers, and mics.

The Incipio Organicore is only available in one color – charcoal and retails for $39.99.

INCIPIO DUO

The Incipio Duo is a two-piece case that offers dual-layer protection. The inner core is a rubber-like material that is used to absorb impacts and also features what Incipio calls Impact Struts. These are used as a protection system, allowing the case to compress and move in unison to reduce impact forces. The outer layer is a hard shell, most likely polycarbonate, that is used to disperse impact. The case is rated to protect your phone from a 12ft drop.

Other notable features that you’ll find as a bonus is that it says it’s scratch-resistant, discoloration resistant and that it is wireless charging compatible. There’s also what appears to be a soft-touch coating on it for comfort and Incipio adds an antimicrobial coating to the case that offers a 99.9% reduction in the growth of common surface bacteria.

Fitment of the Incipio Duo seems very good with all the buttons and holes lined up perfectly. I do like that there are raised edges on all the corners which will protect your screen when placed faced down. There’s also a raised lip on the back around the camera bump for extra protection there too.

The Incipio Duo is available in three colors – black, indigo blue, and salsa red and retails for $29.99.

INCIPIO GRIP

The Incipio Grip is the slimiest case in their lineup, but definitely not the least protective. In fact, the Incipio Grip features protection up to a 14ft drop and features some of the same technology as found on the Incipio Duo. It has Impact Struts which is a protection system that allows the case to compress and move in unison to reduce impact forces. The case is also primarily a hardshell case, though there is also rubber fused to the case.

What sets the Incipio Grip apart from other cases though is it’s built-in no-slip tactile grips. These are multi-directional grips that wrap around the sides of the case and corners to prevent slippage from your hands. For the most part, it does provide better grip, though comfort takes a hit. While the grips do help, they are a bit hard and sharp to the touch. I’m sure over time, you’ll get used to the feeling, but it is a bit harsh at the start.

Other features of the case include a scratch resistant finish, raised edges at the corners for screen protection, and and antimicrobial coating. This offers 99.9% reduction in the growth of common surface bacteria.

The Incipio Grip is available in two colors – midnight blue and black and retails for $39.99.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Incipio offers a solid lineup here of cases for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. While they don’t have as many cases for the phone as some other brands do, it’s not the quantity that matters, but the quality. I like that each of these cases has its own unique qualities and features and there’s something here for everyone.

My favorite case of the bunch though is the Organicore. The fact that it’s a plant-based case is pretty interesting and I really like the fit and feel of the case. My second would be the Grip mainly because of how slim it is and the extra grip it provides. It’s the least comfortable of the bunch, but you get used to it after a while.

With that said, Incipio is a good choice if you’re looking for a solid case for your Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.
