So a few weeks ago, I talked about scoring an NVIDIA RTX 3070 Founders Edition from Best Buy. I chalk that up to a healthy dose of good luck and just being at the right place at the right time. Anyways, using the same method that I described in the last post, I was able to score an NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition, also from Best Buy. While again I wasn’t able to secure more than one graphics card, it means that if you are searching for a graphics card to game with, you do have a chance, regardless of what they say out there.
If you haven’t already done so, I highly suggest reading up on my last post. The main points of interest is the YouTube and Discord server you should be subscribed to, especially the channel in which they discuss drop-rumors. Using the same method as the last post, I was able to find another graphics card. At this point, you shouldn’t really be looking for any particular card, just being able to get what you can get at the correct MSRP. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get one the first time and try again the next.
From my observations so far, it seems that Best Buy is at least dropping cards about every 2-weeks, and sometimes in between that, they’ll do an actual store drop and not one online. You never really know when that’ll be so always keep a sharp eye on the drop-rumor section.
Other sources for help is also Twitter and other Discord servers that do the same thing. I’m subscribed to at least three of them and while the constant notifications can get a bit annoying, it’s a small price to pay if you’re desperate.
Also, this was just one method. You can also try your luck with the Newegg Shuffle, EVGA Queue, Zotac Queue, and more. Also, if you can’t find an NVIDIA card, AMD RADEON cards are also a very viable solution and might actually be a bit easier to get.
