Monoprice Workstream Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk Review

Monoprice Workstream Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk

Monoprice is known for its high-quality electronics and accessories at affordable prices, but did you know that they also make home office furniture? We’re looking at their new Workstream line of home office desks with this one being the Workstream Home Office Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk. This is a 4-foot wide sitting desk designed for computer use so it includes accessories like a cup holder, headphone holder, a cable management tray, and grommet holes for cable passthrough.

This Workstream Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk is made from high-quality materials. The frame is powder-coated steel while the desktop itself is a solid engineered wood core with a melamine surface that can hold up to 220lbs of weight. The desk is wide enough to accommodate a dual-monitor setup or one large ultrawide display. It’s also deep enough to fit a full-sized keyboard and mouse. If you’re running a single monitor, there’s also space for your desktop, though most may want to just keep it on the ground.

Assembly of the Workstream Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk is super simple and will only take you a few minutes. It mainly just consists of you screwing in the two legs and the support beams. Everything is pre-drilled which makes assembly a breeze. While most of the hardware is included, you will need a Philips head screwdriver to complete the assembly. The cup holder, headphone holder, and cable management tray also need to be screwed in. What is neat though is that the cup holder and headphone holder can be screwed into different positions based on your preference.

Once everything is assembled, the Workstream Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk is pretty solid. The desk is free from wobbles thanks to the height-adjustable feet at all four corners and I love the fact that this has built-in cable management. The extra cup and headphone holders are a welcome touch too. The table top itself is lightly textured but still feels pretty smooth to the touch. One of those giant tabletop mouse pads would look great on this and would complement your gaming setup.

Monoprice Workstream Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk

Are there any negatives to the Workstream Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk? Not really. The table has a nice shape to it and it’s very sturdy. Maybe some might be put off by the fact that it doesn’t convert into a standing desk, but Monoprice has another desk for that. This one though is perfect as a sitting desk. I would have preferred maybe also a white option instead of just black since I know there are a lot of people out who would want that.

Aside from that, this Monoprice Workstream Fixed Steel Frame Computer Desk is very good and comes in at a really good price too at just $119.99. Especially with the quality materials it uses which should make the desk last you years and years.
