Last year, I looked at the original Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun. I praised it for its ease of use, build quality, and feature set. I loved that it had 5 different massage heads and that the massage gun was really powerful when turned all the way up. I thought it was the perfect massage gun until the new Bob and Brad C2 Pro Massage Gun with Heat and Cold Therapy was released.
Before we begin, here’s a little backstory to the brand Bob and Brad. The brand is named after its founders, Bob Schrupp and Brad Heinick, who are actual physical therapists. Apparently, they are really well-known and have millions of social media followers and over 50 years of combined experience in their field with a goal of helping 100 million people. That brand itself is more than 10 years old with many of its products gaining very respectable reviews.
So with that said, let’s get started.
If you already have the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun, the massage gun is pretty much the same as the new C2 Pro. It’s still lightweight, and portable, and features five built-in speeds (2000, 2300, 2600, 2900, and 3200 percussions per minute). It has a USB Type-C charging port and a smart chip that will shut the C2 Pro Massage Gun down after 10 minutes to prevent injury and damage to the massage gun.
It also has a real 10mm Amplitude for deep muscle treatment – C2 Pro has the industry’s higher 10mm amplitude with some other great features as well. It’s a very powerful percussion massage gun with over 44lbs of stall force – it will definitely punch harder and can be pressed hard against the skin, reaching 80% of your body with ease.
In terms of design, while it’s not the smallest massage gun I’ve seen, the Bob and Brad C2 Pro Massage Gun is a good compromise between size and weight. It’s a handheld unit that only weighs 1.5 lbs and looks like a small hairdryer. The body is made of plastic with a soft-touch coated handle and feels very solid and premium. The color scheme is that of dark gunmetal grey with silver accents with all the attachments being black as well. Overall a pretty well-designed and good-looking unit. What I really like though is that the C2 Pro Massage Gun includes a carrying case that can hold the gun, massage heads, and all the extra accessories and instruction booklets that it came with.
What makes the C2 Pro Massage Gun different from the original C2 Massage Gun is the inclusion of the heating and cooling massage head. This head allows for cooling at 50°F and 58°F and heating at 104°F and 113°F. This attachment is charged separately and is also charged via a USB Type-C port. The other four attachments in the kit are the same as the ones included in the original C2 Massage Gun kit.
The Bob and Brad C2 Pro Massage Gun is as simple as it comes to operate. You pop on a massage head you want to use and then press the button on the back with your thumb. Each press afterward changes the speed of the motor and when you want to turn it off, just hold down the button until it shuts off. There’s also a speed indicator to show you which speed you’re at and a battery indicator at the bottom that shows you how much charge is left. For the heat and cold attachment, press and hold down either the hot bottom or the cold button. Pressing the button again will cycle through the different temps.
You can really feel the heat and coldness of this massage head so it’s not just a gimmick.
When it comes to power, this definitely doesn’t lack that because, at its highest settings, this thing is super powerful, almost too powerful. I haven’t had a need to use it at full strength nor do I think it would ever have to. I’m sure some people might, but for me, levels 1-3 are enough.
Would I recommend the Bob and Brad C2 Pro Massage Gun with Heat and Cold Therapy? The answer is yes and the reason is that the C2 Pro Massage Gun is very good. The addition of the head and cold massage head made an already near-perfect massage gun even better. I love everything about it, from the features to the build quality and the fact that this is a very powerful massage gun. I appreciate that it includes a handy carrying case for everything.
With that said, the performance of the C2 Massage Gun is more than I could ever ask for and this is one of the best I’ve used thus far. Everything is so well made that the Bob and Brad unit should last you a very long time and provide years of muscle relief.
