After five years in development, Spry Fox is ready to take the beta label off Spirit Crossing. The studio behind Triple Town, Alphabear, and Cozy Grove announced during Nintendo’s IndieWorld Showcase on October 28 that the game will launch November 16, 2026 on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are open now on both Nintendo platforms, and the PC version is available to wishlist on Steam.
Spirit Crossing is a cozy online multiplayer game set in the Crosslands, a strange, beautiful world that keeps changing around you. Instead of combat or competition, it’s built around shared joy and creative expression: you can wander, gather, and build with other players, or simply spend time together doing very little at all.
A typical day might include entering a fishing tournament, painting a mural with your neighbors, or sitting side by side while someone plays a tune as the sun comes up. The focus is on making a home in this world, and making it with other people.
Friendship is a core system, not just a side feature. Relationships grow gradually as you spend time with people, and that progress unlocks new ways to connect — including proximity chat, two-player emotes, gift-giving, and instant teleportation to friends. At the same time, you get detailed control over social permissions, so you can decide exactly how you want to interact with each person you meet, rather than having socializing be all-or-nothing.
Personal style gets a lot of room too. You can customize your avatar with different hairstyles, dyes, and mix-and-match outfits, and bring it to life with dozens of expressive emotes — whether you’re going for a dramatic entrance, a cozy game night, a goth picnic, or a spa day. Then there’s where to live: you can decorate and build a personal home from the ground up, or help shape a shared community Waystation.
Out in the Crosslands, you’ll meet an unusual mix of locals, from humans and talking bears to wandering spirits. Some need help, some just need company, and some simply need time. With patience, they’ll start to open up about their stories — and return a little kindness in turn.
