TGWK’s Review of “Nick Jr.’s A to Z with Moose and Zee” v1.0 (iOS)

If you have children, you most likely know who Moose and Zee are. Moose and Zee are the colorful mascots of the Nick Jr. television channel who appear inbetween television shows to teach children about numbers, shapes, and letters as well as other educational lessons. I admit that I’m also a very big fan of Moose and Zee, especially their catchy songs they sing. I’ve been trying forever to find a compilation album with no luck, but we’ll save that for another discussion.

Nick Jr.’s A to Z with Moose and Zee features Moose and Zee, Nick Jr’s most recognizable mascots. This game is based on the alphabet segments they have now and then that run inbetween shows. Moose and Zee concentrate on the upper and lower case version of a letter and the audience must find these letters hidden within an image. It’s not terribly hard but it does help children recognize their alphabet in a fun way. Nick Jr.’s A to Z with Moose and Zee teaches the alphabet in the same exact manner, just expanded out to all 26 letters in the alphabet.

This is going to be a fairly short review because frankly speaking, Nick Jr.’s A to Z with Moose and Zee is awesome. The entire app has the exact look and feel of the television segments and they even use the real voices of Moose and Zee. Instructions are concise and easy to follow. Your kids should be able to pick this up and play right away. If you kids have seen these segments before, they should already know how to play.

Players tap the letters they they find and that’s all there is to it. Like I said above, this is a great way to get kids to recognize their letters, both lower and upper case and Moose and Zee do a great job of motivating them. What I love too about this game is that they present letters in random order. This makes it much more fun in my opinion as players aren’t forced to start from the beginning each time playing the same letters over and over again.

This really is a great kid’s game and probably one of my favorites at this point. If your kids are in preschool and still learning their letters, I highly recommend that you buy Nick Jr.’s A to Z with Moose and Zee. It’s fun and educational with characters that they recognize.

Nick Jr.’s A to Z with Moose and Zee is available now in the App Store for $1.99. It supports all iOS devices with OS 3.0 and higher.
