Parachute Xtreme! is a new game from developers Spiel Studios. In Parachute Xtreme, you play the part of Nick who’s girlfriend Jenny has been kidnapped by a group of bad guys led by DREK. Nick, with the help of a mysterious stranger named Zapper, sets off to teach DREK a lesson and rescue his girlfriend.

If all that makes it seem like Parachute Xtreme! is some kind of action adventure where you’ll be facing hordes of enemies, it really isn’t. Instead, you’ll be treated to a semi casual style game that’s actually quite fun and challenging that anyone in your family can play regardless of age. The game itself is a parachuting game that mostly just requires you to tap on the screen, one tap to jump and another tap to open your chute. It may sound easy but it’s really not as there are many factors that come into play.

The basic play mechanics of Parachute Xtreme! is pretty simple to understand. Tap once to jump off the ledge after the countdown and tap again to deploy your parachute before hitting the ground. You can tilt your device to move Nick from left to right to collect objects as you fall but you will need to get back into your proper position to land. It’s a lot to keep track of before you hit the ground which can come pretty quickly. Luckily there is a handy position map that tells you how much further you have to go until the ground appears. You can also watch for visual clues like the screen turning red, but by then it might be too late.

Along the way, you’ll get a chance to buy power ups that will greatly increase your chances at winning. Thankfully, these use your points for upgrading and not in-app purchases. You’ll be able to get power-ups like extra health, machine gun, and instant parachute just to name a few. These will greatly increase your chances of surviving and winning.

In the end, Parachute Xtreme! does a fine job of delivering fun. It’s simple enough to play but still provides quite a bit of challenge thanks to the varying degrees of difficulty as you advance through the game. Also, the fact that you have to keep track of so many things while falling is what keeps this game from being way too simple. If it was just a straight up parachuting game without all the power-ups and competing enemies, it would have been a very boring game. Parachute Xtreme! does a great job of keeping things interesting.
