Cannibal Cookout is a new casual came from developer MeYuMe. The game follows Hector and Elvira, two cannibals who are trying to become head chefs. Their ingredient of choice, Nibblers. Nibblers are cute little natives that just so happen to be really tasty and easily snatched up. However, keeping them is a whole other issue. You’ll have to fend off different obstacles to keep the Nibblers in your pot or risk losing your precious ingredients. Obstacles include policeman, firemen, helicopters, angry birds, and more.
The game is fairly easy to pick up and play. You’ll start off playing a few tutorial type missions in the first round of levels that helps you get situated with the game. Most of the gameplay requires tapping, swiping, and dragging. Nibblers will walk around at the top of the screen and you need to tap and drag them to the boiling pot of water in the middle of screen. Keep them in there until they finish cooking. While they are cooking, things like birds, police men, and even ninjas will try to steal your nibblers from your pot. Keep them at bay by shooting them with spears, rocks, or flinging them off the screen. There are tons of levels to progress through and they get more and more challenging as you go through the game. The first few tutorial type levels can be a little tedious, but once you pass those, the game gets much funner.
The game has some really good, colorful graphics although I did notice some weird graphical glitches here and there, but not very often. Those are things that can be addressed in future updates and don’t affect the gameplay.
Cannibal Cookout is a fun casual game that may start off kind of slow, but the action in it really ramps up once you past the first few levels. This may be a casual game, but there is a lot of fun to be had here and it’s definitely a work out for your thumbs. It’s a neat game and one that is quite different from many of the games I”ve been playing recently.
Cannibal Cookout is available now in the App Store for free. It is a universal app and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.Requires iOS 4.3 or later.
