Monsters Ate My Condo v1.4 for iOS Review [TheGamerWithKids.com]

Monsters Are My Condo is a puzzle game from the minds of Adult Swim Games and developed by PikPok. The story goes like this, four ferocious monsters are on the rampage and only the delicious taste of your condo will satisfy them. Yes, it sounds really weird, but we are talking about Adult Swim here. Underneath the strange and twisted story, you’ll find a very solid puzzle game that will be quite familiar to most. Four different colored condo floors will appear and you must match up 3 of the same color in order to form combos. Keep the combos going while satisfying the huger of the monsters but keep a close watch on your building as if it topples over, it’s game over and the monsters win.

To say that Monsters Ate My Condo is a flashy game would be a huge understatement. Graphically, the game is all over the place with flashy colors, highly animated monsters, and it has a very Japanese-culture type feel to it. The flashiness also extends to the audio with Japanese pop culture sound track and corresponding Japanese like sound effects that you’d find in an anime. If you are prone to seizures, this game would seriously cause some.

Even though this is an Adult Swim game, it’s actually suitable for players of all ages as long as they can play puzzle games. It’s not a difficult game to play as the over all gameplay element is quite simple. Match up 3 or more of the same color to form a special colored condo (bronze). These can be used as power ups when fed to monsters. You can also match up 3 of the special condos (bronze, silver, or gold) and they will change to the next highest value. Three golds will form a diamond condo which can be matched up with 3 diamonds to enter the Mega Zone. The Mega Zone makes any combo made into a higher value condo. If this sounds a bit confusing, don’t worry. Monsters Ate My condo includes a lot of gameplay information for beginners  and each time a new element is introduced, they will explain it to you.

Monsters Ate My Condo is a fast paced puzzler that can get really hectic, quick. There’s a lot going on on the screen at once so it can get a bit confusing, but I’m having a lot of fun with this game. There is a solid puzzler under all that flashy paint and it can be pretty addicting, especially since the scoring in this game gets absolutely crazy with score in the high hundred millions. Overall, a very fun and enjoyable game. I suggest you pick it up today while it’s still free. If you read this over the free period is over, I would still suggest picking this up.

Monsters Ate My Condo is available now in the App Store for Free (Limited Time Only). It is a universal app and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.Requires iOS 3.1 or later.
