Super Monsters Ate My Condo v1.3 for iOS Review

supermonsters_iconSuper Monsters Ate My Condo is the followup to the popular game, Monsters Ate My Condo from Adult Swim and Pik Pok. This game is very similar to the previous game but differs in a few ways and adds a few more bits of gameplay elements here and there. For starters, Super Monsters Ate My Condo is now a timed game similar to games like Bejeweled Blitz where you have a 2-minute time limit to try and get the highest score possible.  They’ve also added micro-transactions in the way of gold coins that can be earned or purchased and can be used on pre-game Boosts which are just extra power-ups you can get to increase your scores.

If you purchased the first game and are worried that this second game is going to be exactly the same except with a time limit on each round, don’t be. Even though the gameplay may seem similar at first, I find that Super Monsters Ate My Condo is much more fast paced and hectic and requires much quicker reactions since you are trying to do everything within the time limit. I loved the first game, but I think this one is a much better, more challenging game that has a bit more polish to it.

The graphics on Super MAMC are a lot better on this version with retina display support as well as iPhone 5 support. Everything is pretty much the same and everything you loved about the first game is here, just way better looking. It really makes a difference, especially in such a hectic game like this.

Super Monsters Ate My Condo is a very fun, frantic puzzle game. I didn’t think the first game could get any better but it did. Not only is the gameplay a lot quicker and hectic, but they’ve added quite a bit of new features to the game with the inclusion of boosts and brand new condo types. Overall, a very very addictive game. Honestly, my favorite part is how much time you can waste playing this. Two minutes here and there really adds up with you wondering where all the time went. It’s a great game that is very easy to get into but also very challenging to the point where you want to play just one more game to try and beat your last highest score. It’s that good.

Super Monsters Ate My Condo is available now in the App Store for $0.99. It is a universal app and is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
