Little Things is a seek and find game from developer Klicktock. You might not be able to tell by the app icon, but Little Things is actually very in depth and similar to those “I Spy” books that you might have read to your children. The object of the game is simple, search the huge collage for objects that they list for you to find. Sounds simple enough right? Well, if you’ve tried to find objects in those “I Spy” books, then you know how hard it can be finding an object in a collage of other tiny objects. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. Despite its difficulty, it’s a very enjoyable game.
Little Things is very unique in the way the games are presented to you. According to the description, each time you play the game, it will be different. I like how games are laid out. Instead of your usual “page” of objects to find, objects are arranged to form the shape of a much larger object. For instance they’ll show you a picture of a beagle. That is the level. The beagle will then be turned into a collage filled with tiny objects. You can zoom into the beagle to view all the objects. You can move the collage around to find each object on the list. If you find all the objects fast enough, you’ll be rewarded with a puzzle piece. Collect enough puzzle pieces and you’ll be able to use them to open up more levels.
If you are stuck on a level and can’t find a certain object, Little Things includes a very good hint system. Basically what it does is it highlights a large area of the collage of where the object might be. As time progresses, the highlighted area gets smaller and smaller until the object comes into focus. It’s a great way of still making you search for he object without blatantly just giving you the answer.
Little Things is a very fun game. I really like how all the objects look hand drawn and really love the detail the developers put into the game. The user interface is simple and even children who have never played the game before will feel comfortable playing it. If you’re looking for a seek and find game that will provide hours of enjoyment, Little Things definitely fits that description.
Little Things is available now in the App Store for $2.99. It is compatible with iPad.Requires iOS 4.3 or later.
