Star Wars Pit Droids v1.3.2 for iOS Review [TheGamerWithKids.com]

Star Wars Pit Droids is a puzzler from the minds at LucasArts. Tapping into their Star Wars franchise, the game feature obviously, Pit Droids. You might remember them from Star Wars Episode 1. It’s interesting really how they’ve tied this into the movie with the story as follows: Pit Droids have run amok during Anakin Skywalker’s race. Help Watto corral and keep them from causing any damage. If you’ve ever played SEGA’s Chu Chu Rocket, this game is very similar to that in gameplay so if you loved the cult classic, you may like this too.

Basically what you do in the game is you need to lead the mindless droids from their Launchers into the Pits so they can be transported to the Podrace Arena. Droids will walk in a straight line so it’ll be up to you to place direction arrows to tell them where to go. You’ll have a limited number of arrows you can use. The less you use, the higher your score will be. As you get further along in the game, there will be different kinds of arrows and obstacles to over come. With over 95 levels to play, this should keep you busy for quite some time.

If you were a Chu Chu Rocket fan, you’ll like Star Wars Pit Droids, and even if you weren’t but are a fan of Star Wars, the sights and sounds of the game should be enough to get you at least a bit interested in checking it out. Overall, a very satisfying puzzle game that is very easy to learn and play while still being quite challenging.

Star Wars Pit Droids is available now in the App Store for $1.99. It is a universal app and is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad.Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
