Pudding Monsters – From the Creators of Cut the Rope [iOS Review]

pudding_monsters_iconOne of the funnest puzzle games out there is Cut the Rope. It was a super creative physics based puzzler with a ridiculously cute main character. You would think that with a first app as great as that one was, it would be difficult to follow up with something equally as fun and creative. Somehow, Zeptolab has figured out a way with their newest game, Pudding Monsters. Pudding Monsters in Cut the Rope’s footsteps as a quirky, unique puzzler with interesting main characters.

Like Cut the Rope, Pudding Monsters is graphically a very good looking game. It’s very colorful with a very cartoony look to it. It does have a polish to it that is similar to their previous game that rivals anything a big name studio could accomplish. This is one of the better looking games I’ve played recently, especially for a puzzle game. The design of the pudding monsters themselves are also very creatively done with a wide variety of bigger monsters you can create.

The main point of the puzzle is to try and unite all the pudding monsters into one giant combined entity. You do this by sliding the monsters around the table in straight lines. Monsters however do not stop on their own so if there are no obstacles in front of them, they will go sliding right off the table and you’ll lose the round. You have to figure out a way yo get them all together without having any of them fall off. This is the puzzling element. To make things harder, you can also try for the now standard 3-star finish in order to fully 100% each level. I”m not going to spoil much in terms of gameplay as this is really something you need to experience and seeing each new monster and each new element of the gameplay makes the game very interesting and surprising.

If you loved Cut the Rope, you will most definitely love Pudding Monsters. It’s another hit puzzle game from Zepolabs and a game that should be included in anyone’s game collection on iOS. It’s fun, challenging, and full of surprises and clever puzzling elements. If you download the app this week, you’ll even be able to get it for free as opposed to the usual $0.99 price. If not, it’s still a great price for an great game.
