FourTwoThree Studio announced today that their unique and fun game, Hip Hop Berserker is now available free, in the App Store. I reviewed the game recently and really enjoyed what I played. It’s a rather interesting action game with a Hip Hop theme and rhythmic music like gameplay. Not only that, it’s got great artwork and funny dialog, though it might not be too entirely suitable for children thanks to some adult themes and language.
In any case, the creator, E.A. Gray would like to thank everyone for their support of this game when it launched, except for Apple which seems to have snubbed it by not giving it a feature despite how well it did during its first week. Check out the video from the man himself.

College Park, Maryland – FourTwoThree Studio today is proud to announce the release of Hip Hop Berserker 1.0.1 available for free for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch along with a monthly contest where top players can win free prizes. This innovative hybrid of rhythm and action games has appealed to both casual and hardcore gamers who have lauded the games’ superb soundtrack, gorgeous artwork, and addictive gameplay. AppAddict.net complimented the game calling it, “DDR for your thumbs.”
“I would personally like to thank everyone who played, tweeted, left great reviews, and told their friends about Hip Hop Berserker,” says E.A. Gray, creator of Hip Hop Berserker. “Hopefully, by going free, we will be able to get this unique game into the hands of the masses.”
Hip Hop Berserker offers a rich, unique blend of rhythm and action that has reached as high as being the #2 Music Game and one of the Top 100 Games (#85) in the App Store, despite not being featured by the App Store and receiving very little attention from the press. More alarming was the App Store’s decision to feature Sega’s Rhythm Thief & The Paris Caper, a competing rhythm game which is not only currently charting beneath Hip Hop Berserker on the iPhone, but has received lackluster reviews. A YouTube video thanking fans and denouncing the App Store’s policies is currently available on Hip Hop Berserker’s YouTube channel.
“Not being featured was a bit of a snub from the editors of the App Store, especially considering the fact that Hip Hop Berserker was initially charting better than games they chose to feature,” Gray continues. “It displays a lack of appreciation for Hip Hop and its audience, and even more egregious, it’s a smack in the face to independent developers. This won’t deter us from our goal of offering fans the best Hip Hop based video game experience on a mobile platform.”
