Rayman Fiesta Run Review on iOS

rayman_iconRayman is an Ubisoft created character that isn’t quite as well known as characters like Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog. That’s not to say he doesn’t have his fans though as there are lots of people out there who enjoy the Rayman games, myself included after playing the fantastic Rayman Legends. We know Rayman kicks butt on consoles, but how good are Rayman games on mobile? Rayman Fiesta Run is one of the newer games out now and since it was free the other day, I decided to take a look at it since I enjoyed my previous Rayman console experience.

Rayman Fiesta Run was a game that actually launched around November of 2013, after Rayman Legends originally released. This game takes a lot of cues from the award winning platformer and is even built off of the same Ubiart framework. It has almost the same type of look and feel as the console game with gorgeous graphics, smooth gameplay, and lively music. This is basically a true Rayman experience on your iPhone. The only difference is that this sort of plays like your typical runner style game where you really have no control of which direction Rayman goes. He just goes straight and all you do is decide when to jump and when to attack.

In terms of fun, Rayman Fiesta Run is surely that. It’s actually one of the few games on my phone that I keep coming back to whenever I feel like cranking out a run here and there. The levels are really challenging and my goal is to 100% each and every level. You do that by collecting all the Lums in each level.

Like most running games too, there are power-ups you can equip at the start of each run, but they cost Lums to use them. They aren’t necessary at all though to pass each run and I suggest not using them if you want more of a challenge.

Overall, this is a very fun running game. Fans of Rayman should really pick this up as it stays true to the Rayman franchise. There are tons and tons of levels to keep you busy especially if you are trying to collect everything in the entire game.
