PlayStation TV to Launch October 17th in U.S. and Canada

It looks like the release of PlayStation TV isn’t too long now with an official release date of October 17th. According to Sony, there will be over 700+ titles available at launch including popular franchises like Killzone: Mercenary, cult hits like Persona 4 Golden, and classics like Metal Gear Solid. This isn’t much of a surprise as the PlayStation TV is basically a non-portable version of the PS Vita.

You can pick up a PS TV starting at $99.99 for the standalone system, or $139.99 for the bundle that includes a Wireless Controller (DUALSHOCK 3), 8GB memory card, and The LEGO Movie Videogame.

The main feature that really has me intrigued is Remote Play. You can already do this with a regular PS Vita, but with a PlayStation TV, you’ll be able to remote play games from your PS4 in one room and onto another television in the other using PlayStation TV. You’ll also be able to play older PS3 games once the PlayStation Now service arrives to PlayStation TV.
