Crossy Road Review on iOS – Your Next Gaming Addiction?

crossyroad_iconThere are plenty of time wasters on the App Store and while there are many good ones on there, there are also quite a few stinkers. I however am not going to talk about any of those today and instead, will talk about my newest addiction, Crossy Roads. Crossy Road, for better or worse, can be described as Frogger, with a splash of Minecraft infused graphics, and a dash of endless runner thrown in. There is no point A or point B. There is only the goal of seeing how far you can get.

What I really like about Crossy Road is how easy and fun the game is while also being very challenging. Gameplay consists of taps and swipes and can easily be played one handed. Like Frogger, you just keep moving forward while trying to avoid being flattened by vehicles or drowning in water. You can move left and right for better positioning, but for the most part you’ll want to keep moving forward because the game will gently nudge you along. If you spend too much time standing around, it’ll be the end of you.

Obstacles and dangers are presented to you at various speeds so you’ll have to stay alert and be aware of your surroundings to get far. Along the way, you’ll be able to collect coins that you can trade in for some mystery prizes, mainly in the form of new characters. You get more coins daily for free or you can opt to buy coins to use.

Crossy Roads in my opinion is very well down. It’s quite an interesting take on “Frogger” with graphics and audio that are very good. It’s a challenging game that is quite addicting and it never gets to that point where you feel like the game is cheating you in order to make you buy coins or anything. It’s also not a frustrating game like Flappy Birds because Crossy Road actually requires skill to play and it’s the type of game you can actually be good at through practice. Overall, I highly recommend Crossy Road. It’s a terrific time waster and a game I think everyone should try out.

Why did the Pigeon leave THAT there?
Why did Specimen 115 abduct that cow?
Why did Unihorse eat all that candy?

  1. […] Do you like Pac-Man? If the answer is yes, you might want to check out the latest free-to-play Pac-Man game from NAMCO called, PAC-MAN 256. Unlike the Pac-Man you knew in the past, this version of the game is billed as an endless runner with Pac-Man traversing an endless maze collecting PAC-DOTZ and avoiding those pesky ghosts. On a side note, this game was created by the same devs who made Crossy Road. […]
