Dungeon Defenders II is a 3rd person action adventure with classic RPG elements mixed in. It can be played solo or multiplayer via online or locally and is akin to tower defense style games where you must defend your dungeon from waves of enemies.

The game is currently in pre-alpha stages, but you can play it during its development phases if you purchase one of the currency bundles on the PlayStation Store. Yup, like any free-to-play game, this one features microtransactions.

Press Release

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sept. 29, 2015 – Trendy Entertainment has opened pre-alpha access to its action-tower defense game, Dungeon Defenders II, on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system in North America. Anyone who purchases a Dungeon Defenders II currency bundle through the PlayStation®Store can experience all the title’s fun, surprises and team play as it continues to develop. Dungeon Defenders II currency bundles, which contain unique assortments of gems, Hero accessories and skins, Hero character slots, and more, may be purchased in increments of $14.99, $24.99 and $74.99 (with additional discounts available for PlayStation®Plus members for a limited time).

Dungeon Defenders II is a third-person action-strategy game brimming with classic role-playing elements like loot, leveling, pets and more. It includes single-player and cooperative online and local multiplayer modes. Heroes must build the ultimate champions and defenses to defend the magical realm of Etheria from the endless invading waves of the nefarious Old Ones. The game advances the exciting combat, tactical and RPG mechanics of the original Dungeon Defenders, which appeared on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, adding new systems, abilities and challenges to the experience.

Dungeon Defenders II has been available on PC through Steam Early Access since late last year. Today’s pre-alpha launch on PlayStation®4 includes two new features not yet available on PC: controller support and local, two-player co-op, which can be combined with online play. The game will largely keep up with the pace of its PC counterpart in terms of new content and improvements, though some updates will be staggered between platforms. In the future, Dungeon Defenders II will launch on PlayStation®4, PC, Mac and Linux as a free-to-play title supported by ethical in-game microtransactions.

Pre-alpha access to Dungeon Defenders II is expected to arrive for European PlayStation®4 users in the coming days. Please follow www.DungeonDefenders.com, www.facebook.com/DungeonDefenders and www.twitter.com/TrendyEnt for the latest announcements on its availability.
