Nom Nom Galaxy is the newest game from PIxelJunk on the PS4. You play as an Astroworker for the company Soup Co. and must explore remote planets in search of exotic ingredients. Your mission is to create some of the most delicious soups in the galaxy and to deliver them to hungry customers. With the help of your trust robots, you must build a base of operations that can not only harvest ingredients and create soups, but can defend yourself from rival soup corporations, alien invaders, and local wildlife. Nom Nom Galaxy is a sandbox-styled mix of platforming, base building, tower defense, and good old fashioned monster-stomping!
Below is a quick 35 minutes of gameplay that mostly comprises of a couple tutorial missions. While the first part was rather easy, the second part requires multiple playthroughs in order to really understand the mechanics of the game. I went through 3-days (in-game) of the second tuturial planet and still haven’t quite grasped the intricacies of the game. Nom Nom Galaxy is definitely one of those games that require a lot of thought, strategy, and planning. I’ll definitely be playing more of this game as it is rather interesting with the different styles of gameplay all mashed together.
