City 2048 Review [Mobile]

city2048_iconThere are probably more Threes and 2048 clones out there than I can count and most of them are all the same. I’ve played some variations a few times but quickly lose interest because they’re all basically the same. However, something happened last night while browsing through the app stores and a little game called City 2048 caught my eye. This too is a 2048 clone, but instead of numbers, the game uses Sim City like blocks that can be combined to form huge metropolises. If you’re a fan of city building games and 2048, you might want to check this out.

City 2048 plays very much like other 2048 games. You slide tiles to combine matching ones to form upgraded city blocks. The goal here is to try and build a large metropolis by combining the tiles to form larger city structures. It’s pretty challenging but it’s not much different from standard 2048. I think the main thing here that keeps me playing it is the fact that they’ve replaced the numbers with buildings making the game much more enjoyable to look at than a bunch of numbers.

City 2048 is a free game. If you like 2048 style games and city building games, you’ll probably like this. While its pretty much the same old 2048 experience, the art in the game makes it more enjoyable to play.
